TAKING ACTION FOR VISION #2030 (LET'S CHANGE THE WORLD FOR GOOD)

My name is Godwin Winny Anderson Uwagbale (AFC). i'm an Anti-Rape Activist, Education Promoter, speaker and Teenage/youth developer. i'm presently the Team-Lead/Founder of Africa Pride Empowerment Empire (NPO) which is committed and focused on bringing positive and generational change to African youngsters. we focus on children in primary school and teenagers in secondary school based in our rural community (Ijegun/Ikotun, Lagos Nigeria) because they are the potential leaders that will handle the affairs of the world in future. its really sad that EDUCATION has not been taken very seriously by parents and local government officials in our community and this attitude has affected the educational background of these children and teenagers. if you will agree with me, EDUCATION is the best legacy that can be given to any child and as a matter of fact, every child has right to good and quality education. this is why our Non Profit Organization (NPO), has taken it as a responsibility to continually support and promote education in the grassroots level. HIGH SCHOOLS' ACADEMIC AWARDS: This is an annual academic award program/event we usually organize for the benefit of the students in our community. its a program designed to celebrate, promote academic excellence and also to encourage students in secondary school to continually give education their total concentration. On the 12th of July 2013, we had the very first edition of the program and several students were given award for their academic excellence. We do this to give education the needed attention that it deserves. At this junction, we call on individuals and organization to partner with us as we continually impact lives for good. right now, we are looking to establishing a standard reading library for the benefit of children and teenagers in our community because we have come to discover that today's youngsters are not book-warm, they lack the ability to read and we want to use the reading library as an avenue to instill reading culture into them. inside the library, we plan on having a conference hall whereby we can always organize workshops, seminars and conferences. these platforms will be used as a means to empower teenagers in bead-making, hair-styling, fashion-designing, make-Up artistry and a computer room where they will trained in the IT-World. We need maximum support to continue the good works we've already started. CHILDREN'S DAY REACH-OUT PROGRAM: On the 27th of may 2014, the entire team of African Pride Empowerment Empire (NPO), paid courtesy visit to various schools in our community to give basic school materials to children and teenagers in school as a way of celebrating CHILDREN'S DAY with them. HIGH SCHOOLS' ANTI-RAPE CONFERENCE: On the 14th of March 2014, we had the first ever Anti-Rape campaign for secondary school students. it was a program designed to fight against rape sexual-abuse and domestic violence against the Girl-Child. We invited various schools in our community and outside our community and we had the presence of a veteran Nollywood Actress and child-Right activist (Gloria Anozie-Young) and the pastor Caroline Moore (Executive Director of Pace-Setter's World). It was a day of fulfillment because we were able to educate the teenage students on how they can avoid Rape and Sexual-Abuse we also able to spread the message "SAY NO TO RAPE " on social media like Facebook, twitter, linkedin.com and Google plus. If you will agree with me, the increase of RAPE cases world-wide is very alarming and the earlier we come to together to fight it, the better for our children, especially the Girl-Child. MY EXPERIENCE RUNNING AN NPO: Sometimes, its easy for one to give-up the dream of impacting lives positively due to lack of funding or support from individuals and organizations. the major challenge we are facing presently is lack of resources financially and materially. for example, we need accommodation for our volunteers, Team/Staff bus, and financial back-up to execute some academic projects for the benefits of children and teenage students in our community. #2030: In the year #2030, i want to live i to see a world whereby every child will not be deprived of quality education, where poverty will be a thing of the past, where you will not be judged by your skin color, where power supply will be constant especially where i come from, where there will be no more war and a country where everybody will do the right thing regardless of who is doing the wrong thing. ERADICATING POVERTY AND GENDER INEQUALITY: One of the major ways the world can eradicate poverty is to first all change the MIND-SET of every individual. people must understand the fact that lack of money is not poverty and too much of money is no wealth. This is why we do everything possible to transform the mind-set of teenage students in our community because what they learn today is what they will execute tomorrow. Another way i think the world can eradicate poverty is to equip the youths with various skills and with that the youths will be encouraged to be an entrepreneur and this will create more jobs for people. Professionals must be ready to support this by investing in projects that empowers youths. Another area where i'm not happy about is the area of Gender Inequality. mam and woman are created equal, the only difference between a man and a woman is the nature of creation. A woman's office or career does not end in the kitchen or in bed and nobody should encourage such. Women should be given the needed support morally and financially to pursue their career to what ever level they wish to. As an Anti-Rape Activist, i will always stand to "SAY NO TO RAPE, SEXUAL-ABUSE, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN, AND GENDER INEQUALITY. imagine a world without the WOMAN.
